Email to Mr. Matley
I just sent the following email to Mr. Matley:
Hello Mr. Matley,With regards to the recent issue regarding the validity of documents put forth by the CBS News program 60 Minutes regarding then Lt. Bush's service in the Air National Guard, your name came up as the expert who confirmed the validity of the handwritten signature. Given the qualifications and services listed on your website [1] I do not wish to question the voracity of your assertion that the signature is valid. However, I note that your website says absolutely nothing about the validation of typed documents. Nor are there any qualifications listed regarding expertise in 1970's era typewriters / typesettings / fonts or military standard document formatting and filing regulations. Would you please clarify your qualifications in these areas and whether or not you feel that you would be qualified to validate the voracity of the CBS memos based on elements of the document other than the signature. Thank you in advance.

I will report on whether or not I receive a response from Mr. Matley but will only post the full text of his response if he gives me permission (if he responds at all).
