DeWitt: “This would make a great web service, btw. Give users the opportunity to claim their accounts on third-party services, crawl or subscribe to those feeds, aggregate all the links they’ve posted, and offer the user a chance to download the entire archive as a backup, and/or publish the list as a web page like Dave did, preferably as a white-label service that can be served from the user’s own domain.”
This actually would be pretty interesting. Rather than using some third party url shortener that gives away my ability to see at metrics about the links I share, I should be able to drive users to my own personal url shortener that gives me access to the metrics. Would be a simple enough service to put together.
